In addition, the lack of awareness on longterm benefits of the GI and accordingly awareness on the necessity to establish an organization to manage it of coffee community leads to the main challenge after GI registration is to form an organization and operate the management system effectively to develop the GI.In July 2008, the %u201cManagement and development for Buon Ma Thuot coffee GI%u201d project was initiated and in October 2010 the Buon Ma Thuot coffee Association with more than 70 producing and trading members was established to step by step consolidade the management system assuring quality and traceability. With these efforts of coffee community, Robusta coffee labeling Buon Ma Thuot GI shall officially appear in the market in near future.In addition to certified sustainable coffee production and trade, the exploitation of GI to create image for the locality and the country as well as added values for the actors in the value chain is a feasible strategy in the context that the value-added coffee market in consumption countries is still protected and the consumers require increasingly the identification of products%u2019 origin. Beside benefits brought for coffee production and business, Buon Ma Thuot GI can also contribute to the development of other agricultural products; enhance the attractiveness of other industries such as tourism, resorts, arts and crafts, eating and drinking industry, traditional music, etc. When a geographical name becomes a long-lasting %u201csymbolic%u201d brand, benefits brought to the community in the region shall be not only in economy but also in society and living environment.
